It turns out that President Sadat of Egypt presented a historic signing of a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel as an event of worldwide importance. Sadat suggested that he, Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and President of the United States - Muslim, Jew and Christian - have arrived in the Sinai Peninsula and a peace treaty signed at the foot of "Mount Sinai, where God handed the Ten Commandments to Moses." But signing ceremony was held at the White House lawn in Washington, DC (March 1979). As a goodwill gesture, Israel agreed to adjust the withdrawal line troops by December 1979, in a way that Mount Sinai and the Monastery of St. Catherine moved to Egypt before April 1982, as mandated by the treaty. As soon as the Israeli troops left around the mountain, near the monastery on the personal orders of Sadat began construction of the "temple of all religions", conceived as part of the "village of peace."
